Marvel explores the lives of everyday heroes in this series from writer Bruce Jones and artist Tom Mandrake. The focus of The Call of Duty: The Precinct is Sgt. Frank “Gunz” Gunzer, a veteran of the force who has seen most everything a cop can expect to see, but when he and his partner find themselves dealing with a hostage situation, things go from bad to worse very quickly. The gunman shoots Gunzer’s partner and kills a young girl, forcing Gunzer to kill the gunman to prevent further harm.

In the wake of the shootings, Gunzer’s marital problems intensify, and he begins seeing visions of the same blonde-haired girl EMS worker Jennifer Montez has seen in The Call of Duty: The Wagon and fireman James MacDonald has seen in the The Call of Duty: The Brotherhood. Gunzer is perplexed by the girl’s constant pleas for help, but he finds some comfort in the fact that his brother Joey—whom Gunzer resents for quitting the police force to become a priest—has seen the visions, too. Will the brothers decipher the girl’s cryptic messages before it’s too late? Find out in this excellent title from two of the comics industry’s best creators.
