Babylon 5: In Valenís Name

 B5IN   (DC, 1998)

ô and ©1998 Warner Bros.

A popular and well-crafted, science-fiction series, Babylon 5 is unusual because it was created with a definite conclusion in mind. Babylon 5 is an immense space station, built to be a neutral zone for warring planets. Its numerical designation is determined by the four space stations that preceded it. Three were sabotaged and the fourth was mysteriously sent back in time. In this three-issue mini-series, Babylon 4 makes an enigmatic reappearance, prompting Commander Sheridan and the rest of the prominent characters to investigate.

This title contains stunning art by Michael Collins and David Roach (who successfully capture the actorsí likenesses), and was written by the series creator, J. Michael Straczynski. It may be considered unusual for a television dramatist to involve himself in a comic book spinoff of his work, but Babylon 5 is Straczynskiís personal creation, and he maintains strict and loving control over the franchise.
