The Sketchbook Adventures of Peter Poplaski
(Denis Kitchen, 2005)
™ and © 2005 Peter Poplaski
An artist must practice his art every day and Peter Poplaski is no exception. Drawings from his numerous sketchbooks from 1994 through 2002 are studies in people and places from real life. Poplaski’s work has stretched over thirty years in the pages of Marvel, DC, and mostly from Kitchen Sink Press. He’s worked on many newspaper strips based on comic book titles and has worked with many of the greats of the business such as Eisner, Kurtzman, Kane, Moore and Crumb.
Readers of this book are not looking for a clever story or buxom babes baring all, but rather it is for those who can absorb good art for it’s own sake. These are slices of life that bring the reader into the mind and world of the artist and brings a smile to the face of those who can recognize the hidden optimism that flows from people, brought to the surface by a master artist.
