Taoland

Taoland is the first release from Jeff Amano and Sumitek Comics. It’s a martial arts comic that makes reference to the Shaolin Temple of TV’s Kung Fu, but takes place in the ages before the Temple was established.

In Taoland, the world was ruled by the Animal Kings (the “War-Lords”), who developed the fighting skills which would later be passed on to the modern age. The evil Dragon Master, Yaw-Kuai, established the Dragon Claw Clan (“Don-Chao”), and sought to recruit all the students to join him. Still, he was unable to win over the best student, Yingpeng, who with his friends fought to stop the Don-Chao.

While it was nicely painted by newcomer Amano, this series began with an incredibly short first issue, clocking in at only eight black-and-white pages.
