When John Ostrander submitted a proposal to revamp Marvel’s famous vigilante the Punisher, he had no idea that they would actually accept it. When he got the call which told him of Marvel’s approval, he was stunned.

The Punisher as a crime boss? What? Where? When? How? Didn’t the skull-clad vigilante spend most of his life fighting and killing mob members? Wasn’t Frank Castle’s family killed by the mob? After surviving a staged public electrocution, the Punisher awakes to find that he has been spared by a man named Mario Geraci, a Mafia Don with some pretty heavy connections. Don Geraci is dying, and surprisingly enough, he wants Castle to take over for him. After some pretty hefty convincing, Frank decides to accept, knowing full well that he can do more good working from the inside.

This begins a whole new direction for Frank Castle’s life.
