Murder Me Dead
(El Capitán, 2000-2002)
™ and ©2000 David Lapham
A beautiful, rich socialite found dead from apparent suicide. Her depressed jazz musician husband who finds comfort in the arms of a long lost high school crush. A seedy private investigator hired to prove that foul play is afoot. These are the ingredients that make up David Lapham’s comic book noir, Murder Me Dead. Following the success of his indie title Stray Bullets, with Murder Me Dead, Lapham unravels a modern day crime thriller. The story follows Steven Russell in the wake of his wife’s apparent suicide. Though not considered a suspect by the police, Russell has yet to be exonerated in the eyes of his dead wife’s family. As he tries to put his life back together, he suddenly finds himself caught in a web of passion, lies, and murder wondering whom he can really trust. Fans of crime whodunits with dark overtones and strong characterization such as Jinx and 100 Bullets will enjoy Lapham’s tale of obsession and betrayal.
