The Masked Man

It all started the night reporter John Athens was mugged. Although Athens had been roughed up, he followed his reporter’s instincts and decided to go after the story. He followed the group of ruffians for several blocks, then watched as they broke into a costume shop. The thieves were busy looting the shop when a man passed by on the street, saw what was going on, then jumped through the broken window into the shop. He grabbed a mask and proceeded to take on all four toughs by himself. Unfortunately, the papers and the police misunderstood this hero’s actions, taking him to be another thief. That all changed weeks later when he jumped into a tense hostage situation and saved the day using nothing but his fists.
The Masked Man is an inspiring figure, a normal guy who decides he’s not willing to sit by when crime strikes his neighborhood. He has no weapons, no super-powers, and this isn’t even “his job.” He is simply a hero.
