Ten years ago, Doctor Kevin Trench was seeing off his favored science student, Ashley Croix, as she boarded a flight chartered for Morelle Pharmaceuticals’ rising young stars. He watched her board the plane when an invisible force suddenly attacked him. Then, an enigmatic stranger appeared out of nowhere in a sort of “living costume” which fought off Trench’s assailants. When the battle was over, the stranger handed him a piece of newspaper, then slumped over, dead. The newspaper was dated ten years in the future, talking about how Ashley had made stunning discoveries in adrenaline enhancements. And when Trench pulled back the stranger’s mask, he saw his own face…

Trench donned the costume and discovered its powers for himself when terrorists hijacked Ashley’s plane. He battled them and they fired wildly, causing the plane to explode. Since then, he has lived in seclusion and guilt over Ashley’s death. Now, he’s back…and Ashley appears to be alive!
