The Imaginaries

Walking around a cartoon town in his “Clark Kent” alter ego, a lost hero named George wonders what the rules are in a strange land policed by menacing teddy bears. Luckily, a talking mouse named Melee decides to be his guide to the “Imagined Nation.” An animated movie character of the silent era, Melee became real when a child wished it so. But, eventually forgotten by his companion, Melee, too, was relegated to this dimension of discarded playthings.
After George catches a brief cyber-glimpse of Tanner, his teen-age creator, he transforms into Superhero G to stand up against the omnipresent bear bullies. But will the agents of the Ice Queen succeed in quieting this hero and exiling him to the Desert Lands?
Ironically, this well-drawn series champions the ideal of creativity while borrowing from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Toy Story 2, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and Superman, among others. Opposing the “disposability” and short attention spans of pop culture, it will be challenging to create a lasting storyline from an amalgam of admittedly secondhand characters.
