Paul the Samurai (Mini-Series)

This little-known mini-series was the first spinoff title for Paul the Samurai. Here we find Paul moving to the city and taking a job as a security guard in order to pay the rent. Strangely, there was little competition for the job, since the previous eighteen guards had all vanished mysteriously. Not long after signing on, Paul’s own partner disappears, and Paul discovers it’s all the work of the strange Boiler Men who were kidnapping workers to help build a new wing of the building. It’s the sort of weirdness that Paul specializes in, including giant robots, dimensional travel, and Twinkie fights.

The big lug of a samurai first appeared in the pages of The Tick #4. The wacky super-hero returns the favor by making a brief cameo in the first issue of this series.
