Series becomes Rai and the Future Force following issue #8, returns as Rai with issue #25

Rai’s story began in 1992 when Project Rising Spirit succeeded in infusing a human with “The Blood of Heroes.” This was a special synthetic blood composed of microscopic nano-machines. Rising Spirit had infused this into a subject codenamed Bloodshot, and the nano-machines gave him incredible speed, agility, an accelerated healing factor, and a strange ability to control machines.

Following Bloodshot’s death in the year 2028, others would try to control the Blood of Heroes. Still, its secrets would become lost until 3216 when Japanese anti-grannies were rebelling against their island’s all-powerful master computer. To stop them, computer created the Rais in the image of Bloodshot. The Rai’s put down the rebellion and obtained the blood, which they stored in a secure vault. There it lay until 4002, when the last Rai, Takao Konishi, would infuse himself with it to become a hero.
