Warlock (3rd Series)

Adam Warlock was a near-forgotten character of the early 1970s who has enjoyed a renaissance thanks to series like The Infinity Gauntlet and The Infinity War. This third solo Warlock title reprints some his earliest adventures in order to give new readers insight into Warlock’s incredible life story.

Warlock’s life was a cosmic odyssey of sorts: springing full-grown out of his artificial womb in the hive, he possessed great powers, but only infant-like reasoning. He realized that the men who created him were evil, and destroys both them and the Hive. Warlock then set off for the stars, wandering the spaceways until he discovered his own sense of purpose in life. In a rather Miltonian allegory, Warlock would eventually shape a new world, inadvertently spawn its Satan (the Magus), and then die, Christ-like, to save it. In time, Warlock came back from the dead as one of Marvel’s most powerful characters.
