Marvel Spotlight (Vol. 1)

Marvel Spotlight was primarily a means for Marvel to experiment with new characters. By giving each new character an issue or two, Marvel was able to showcase a number of real winners who might otherwise have been considered too risky.

First among these winners was the issue #5 first appearance and origin of Ghost Rider. The fiery-headed avenger was an instant success, and Marvel soon featured him in his own series. Today, the new Ghost Rider is one of Marvel’s hottest characters.

Later issues of Marvel Spotlight gave us the first appearances or solo stories of the Son of Satan, Moon Knight, Red Wolf, and Spider-Woman.
