Black Canary

Known to readers of the Green Arrow series as the Arrow’s love interest, Black Canary gets a chance to strike out on her own in this new series. The Canary’s sole super-power was her sonic scream (à la the Uncanny X-Men’s Banshee), a power she lost for good in Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters. Luckily, she learned early on never to rely upon her super–power as her only weapon, and she trained hard to become an accomplished martial artist. She uses these talents to fight crime on a very up–close and personal level. Already the Black Canary has garnered praise for its portrayal of such a strong female character. This, her first unlimited series, can be expected to bring new fans to the blonde fury.
