Easily one of the more abstract of the Vertigo titles, Faultlines centers around Tracey Farrand, a former computer hacker who suffered from a nervous breakdown—or possibly her own latent psychic powers breaking loose. In either case, the experience was deeply unsettling.

Attempting to find respite from her strange visions, she decided to visit Ayusha, an old friend who lived in the scenic town of Placer’s Bend. She was scarcely inside the city limits, however, when the visions returned—stronger than ever. What’s more, it seems that Placer’s Bend is inhabited by spirits, including that of a supernatural killer!
