Destroyer Duck

    (Eclipse, 1982-1984)
Eclipse

When Steve Gerber set out to regain ownership of his creation, cult hero Howard the Duck, he let loose with—what else?—another duck. Destroyer Duck, has mastered the art of warfare, struggled through the ivory towers of academia, and conquered crime in his own neighborhood. And when his best friend—a rather familiar duck, horribly abused, used and tortured in our world—comes back, Destroyer Duck visits us to wreak vengeance on the selfish, money-grubbing corporation that took advantage of his friend.

Eclipse published this special series, which also included short satirical pieces by Mark Evanier, Martin Pasko and Sergio Aragonés. Aragonés’ piece is especially notable for the first appearance of Groo the Wanderer.
