This is the second in a series of high profile creator-backed books that imagine the final story of prominent characters in the Marvel Universe. The first book was the critically acclaimed and fan-approved Hulk: The End by Peter David and Dale Keown. Here Jim Starlin (no stranger to cosmic odysseys) writes and Al Milgrom draws virtually every character in the Marvel Universe biting the dust in the face of a cosmic despot. Thanos, bringer of chaos and consort to Lady Death – a character familiar to Starlin fans from the Infinity Gauntlet – not only narrates the story, but also leads the charge to save Earth and all of its heroes and villains. Much like DC’s Elseworlds stories, The End stories are an interesting look into a possible future of readers’ favorite heroes and villains.
