Metal Men

The Metal Men are a group of robots created by Dr. Will Magnus. They take their names and their powers from the metals from which they are created. Lead is able to block bullets and radiation; Gold is able to stretch himself to incredible thinness; Iron is super-strong and nearly indestructible; Mercury can turn himself into a collection of liquid globules at room temperature; Tina (Platinum) also has amazing stretching and springing abilities—as well as a schoolgirl crush on Doc Magnus; and Tin, the coward of the bunch, seems mostly good for laughs.

This strange but lovable bunch debuted in Showcase #37 before beginning this, their first solo series. They appeared regularly throughout the sixties and seventies, but seemed to vanish afterward. That changed in 1993, when DC revisited this old favorite in a brand new series.
