Bradford “Cowboy” Miller was a scientist determined to ensure that mankind would survive in the event of a nuclear war. He designed a “genetic package” which he implanted into several women, including his wife. Young Morgan Miller was born from this and seemed a normal man until he was twenty or so. Then, while fighting in Viet Nam, the heat of battle brought on a radical change in Morgan. Suddenly, Morgan gained the raw strength necessary to rip apart a tank with his bare hands. Scientists designed a suit of silver fibers which acted to protect him from his own body chemistry. Thus this first of a new breed, “Homo Geneticus” became the hero Silver Star.

In addition to Silver Star, this series featured another Jack Kirby creation: Last of the Viking Heroes. This was a sword and sorcery team-up featuring Erik, a Viking Warrior; Jon, a clever sorcerer; and a Viking-Indian fighter named Tombar.
