Ted Denning and Bob Rainier are Detectives Inc. In this two-issue “micro-series” they find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation—only this time, Denning is the one who pulled the trigger! Rainier, meanwhile, has troubles of his own. Still reeling from his divorce, he agrees to investigate the murder of his ex-wife’s friend—a lesbian midwife who led a life an entangled as Rainier’s.

A modern noir series, this title features a much larger amount of prose, both in captions and balloons, than most comics. Writer Don McGregor is known for the large amount of text in his comics. Fortunately, here he worked with artist Marshall Rogers who can pack a lot of visuals into the more than usual number of panels. Very character-driven with mature topics, there are also excellently drawn action sequences.
