Series continued from Fury of Firestorm #64.

In nuclear physics, fusion is the process by which two molecules are forced together to form an entirely new one, while at the same time releasing an enormous amount of energy. This is the same sort of process that takes place when American teen Ron and Soviet professor Mikhail Denisovitch Arkadin combine to form Firestorm, the Nuclear Man.

This series picks up after a slight renaming from Fury of Firestorm #64. It ran from 1987 until 1990 when it concluded with the giant-sized issue #100.
