Guy Gardner: Warrior

Guy Gardner has always been one of the most inexplicable super-heroes. Although originally a nice guy, brain damage literally turned him into an egotistical, pugnacious jerk. For some reason, the Oans, who control the power of the Green Lanterns, then decided to make Gardner a Green Lantern.

After sixteen issues of the Guy Gardner solo series, the title changed names to Guy Gardner: Warrior and the plan was finally made clear. As it turns out, Gardner was the product of genetic interbreeding between a warrior race known as the Vuldarians and ancient humans. The genetic legacy lay dormant for many generations until it finally manifested itself in Gardner. Now, even without a Green Lantern’s ring, he can wield the incredible powers that were his destiny. These include super-strength plus the ability to shape his body into any conceivable weapon. Even now, however, he still fights on the side of good.
