X Isle

It’s probably not a coincidence that the title of this series sounds like X-Files. The carcass of a mysterious sea creature washes up on shore, and a team of scientists and explorers goes out to investigate its origins. What they find is a spectacular lightning storm, an undiscovered island, and just maybe, death. Along the way a man tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter, tensions rise between competitive scientists, and it turns out that the sea creature they discovered wasn’t alone.

Sharp dialogue and cool art make for an entertaining and good-looking title; it reads like a good science-fiction movie—or a strong episode of The X-Files.
