Fairbanks loves America, patriotism, the troops, and far-right ideologies. His sister, Cecania, is a vegan, war-protesting liberal who isn’t against using her body to get what she wants. Cecania’s best friend Harmony was on her way to a career as a brilliant surgeon—until she left the operating room in the middle of a procedure. Sawyer is an injured veteran with a good-natured, “aw shucks” demeanor despite the very personal nature of his war-time loss. His pet bear, Coleman, while technically not an employee, sure is cute. They just might be able to make the Sore Thumbs video game store a success—if any of them actually knew what they were doing.
