2000 A.D. Showcase (1st Series)

2000 A.D. Showcase was the third and final name change for a series which began its life as 2000 A.D. Monthly (2nd Series), switched to 2000 A.D. Presents with issue #4, then assumed its present name with issue #25, running until the title ceased with issue #54.

No matter what name it went by, this series existed primarily to colorize and reprint stories from the British science-fiction weekly 2000 A.D. 2000 A.D. Showcase focused on lesser-known features from that weekly, since 2000 A.D. alumni Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, A.B.C. Warriors, Sam Slade, Robo-Hunter, and Rogue Trooper were pulled out one-by-one and featured in their own titles. By the time 2000 A.D. Presents became 2000 A.D. Showcase, this singling-out process had proceeded quite far, leaving this series a bit impoverished. Nevertheless, the title still had its stand-outs, including Zenith, a crass super-hero who valued stardom far more than altruism.
