It began twenty years ago, when the secret organization Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.) was forced to abandon a genetics experiment that had gotten out of hand. Fearing that the test subjects had acquired powers that would make them uncontrollable, they attempted to destroy them all rather than let them loose in the world. Unknown to them, however, one of the subjects managed to escape…

Today in London, two kids, Rory and Pandora, have begun careers as super–heroes after discovering that they possessed extraordinary powers. After all, that’s the thing you do in these cases, right? It was all a game to them until three monsters tore through their family’s home. In the struggle, the pair discovered the entire family—including their grandmother—had super–powers. And there was one more revelation: the family, and other “special people” like them across the world, were all born to the same parents, products of that genetic experiment gone awry.
