In contrast to the rather down-to-earth antics of Ziff-Davis’s G.I. Joe, this title’s heroes have more in common with super-heroes than army grunts. The stars are a force of colorful warriors known as the G.I. Joes. Each comes with their own specialty, and all are armed with a collection of futuristic-looking weaponry.

They use these weapons to battle the dreaded COBRA, a malevolent force of villains bent on world domination. This series was originally a tie-in based on a toy line and cartoon series, but it has maintained a surprisingly high level of popularity and staying power.
