In a faraway universe, magic holds sway. Two rival spellbinders command the mystical forces of good and evil, giving them the power to do almost anything they can imagine. All that changed, however, when one of the spellbinder’s familiars dared to revolt against him. They stole his rings of order and chaos, and sought out the help of an unknown third spellbinder.

Worlds away, Erica Fortune is a promising English teacher at New York State University. Although she is known to possess paranormal abilities, she has no idea of her true import. That changes when the spellbinder’s familiars crash through a dimensional portal into her living room. It’s then that she discovers that she is the third great spellbinder, charged with a mystical quest to use her powers for good.
