Wolverine Classic

    (Marvel, 2005)
™ and © Marvel Characters, Inc.

After years as part of the legendary super-hero team X-Men and several successful mini-series, this fuzzy, feral mutant struck comic book gold with his own solo series. Through the years, he’s been known as James, Weapon X, Logan, and most recently Wolverine. For his own series, launched by creative veterans Chris Claremont and John Buscema, the crusty Canadian recreates himself yet again as “Patch,” the proprietor of a bar in the mysterious Asian city of Madripoor. This trade paperback is the first of a series reprinting the Wolverine solo comic, collecting issues #1-5. Wolverine’s—or Patch’s—early nemeses include rival crimelord Tyger Tiger, the Silver Samurai, and the evil General Coy.

Wolverine. Still deadly after all these years.

— Jerry Smith
