Marvel Selects: Spider-Man

    (Marvel, 2000)
™ and © 2000 Marvel Characters, Inc.

First appearing in 1961’s Amazing Fantasy #15, the scrawny, bookish Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, gaining amazing strength and agility, as well as the ability to sense imminent danger. At first, Peter was only interested in the financial opportunities his new powers could provide. But after the tragic death of his uncle, a death Spider-Man could have prevented, he vowed to use his abilities to defend the weak and innocent whenever possible.

This series reprints classic stories from the long-running Amazing Spider-Man, focusing on the particularly pivotal and defining moments in Spidey’s career. It is similar to 1993’s Spider-Man Classics, but that series only reprinted his earliest adventures, in the order that they first appeared.
