In 2080, the cream of humanity has been saved from The Great Contamination in a completely controlled environmental dome. But one girl rebels at the antiseptic lifestyle of her friends and family-Axa. Stripping her modern clothing away for torn leather, she leaves the safety of the Domed City and goes out in search of real life.

One of the unique differences between British newspaper adventure strips and American newspaper adventure strips of the late twentieth century is the frequency of near or completely nude female characters: none in America, several in Great Britain. In the First American Edition Series, the Axa strips from London’s Daily Express are reprinted in all their artistic glory. Book One begins the adventure by recounting “The Beginning” and “The Chosen” while Book Two “The Desired” recounts our heroine’s search for survivors beyond the sea.
