Burke’s Law

Based upon the popular 1960s television police drama of the same name, Burke’s Law centers on Los Angeles homicide detective, Captain Amos Burke. Unlike many other characters in law enforcement series made popular during the 60s, Amos Burke was a suave, handsome millionaire who worked for the police department because he loved the challenge. Often arriving at crime scenes in a Rolls Royce chauffeured by his trusty driver Henry, Burke would proceed to solve murders while spouting truisms he called “Burke’s Laws.” Meant to capitalize on the popularity of the television show, Amos Burke’s adventures were published in comics form starting with Burke’s Law No. 1 in 1964. Aficionados of other 60s television shows such as The Man From U.N.C.L.E. will enjoy Amos Burke’s distinctive approach to crime fighting.
