This pinup book gives run-downs and character concept sketches on the alternate Marvel characters created for their Time Slip specials. Essentially, Marvel allowed today’s top creators including Mike Allred, Kelly Jones, Time Sale, Scott McDaniel, and even Bill Sienkiewicz pretend they were working back in 1963 when heroes like Spider-Man, Thor, and Iron Man were getting their start. The resulting character sketches are certainly interesting and original, but mostly of interest to die-hard fans.

These pages originally appeared in Marvel Vision, Marvel’s ill-fated ordering catalog/fan magazine which took the place of Previews when Marvel briefly decided to eschew mainstream distribution in the mid-1990s and self-distribute itself through the purchase of distributor Heroes World. This move led to widespread chaos in the market, as well as a raft of retailer and customer complaints, and may have helped bring on Marvel’s bankruptcy filing.
