Spider-Man: Web of Doom
(Marvel, 1994)
™ and ©1994 Marvel Entertainment Group
Peter Parker’s wife Mary Jane has gone off to the jungles for six weeks for what she believed was a prime action movie role. To keep his mind off missing his wife, Peter decided to swing into action as the Amazing Spider-Man. For several nights he caught criminals by the dozens, including a fired Brandywine Pharmaceutical Company worker who decided to sneak into the offices after hours through a second-story window. Spidey webbed him up as usual and told a security guard where he was. This was standard procedure for Spider-Man, and posed no real danger to the criminal as his ultra-sticky webbing dissolves within an hour or so.
But this time, something went wrong. The man caught in Spider-Man’s web apparently starved to death in a web that failed to dissolve. Was Spider-Man a killer? Or was something more sinister going on?
