Spider-Man/Human Torch

Spider-Man and the Human Torch have a long history together, dating back to their earliest days as teenaged wallcrawler and teenaged hothead, respectively. This title fondly recalls that history and that era, written and drawn in a throwback style that should particularly appeal to the readers of the earliest adventures by Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby. Young Johnny Storm resents the attention that Spider-Man gets from the media and aims to do something about it by enlisting Peter Parker. Parker envies that the Torch can be a hero without wearing a mask, while trying to balance his own life of bills and the affections of young Betty Brant.

New readers should enjoy the innocent humor and sparring between the characters; old readers might think they’ve traveled into the past. The series is lovingly crafted by Dan Slott and Ty Templeton.
