X-Men Vs. The Avengers

This mini-series takes place during the time that Magneto was acting as leader to the Uncanny X-Men. As the series begins, a mysterious asteroid is crashing towards the Earth, and the Avengers have their hands full trying to make sure that its fragments do not harm populated lands. But unbeknownst to them, the asteroid fragments are actually part of Magneto’s old Asteroid M.

Although Magneto had thought it was destroyed, he decided to investigate when part of it landed in Kampuchea. There he was confronted by the Avengers, who try to arrest him for previous international crimes. At the last moment, he was saved by the appearance of the X-Men, who forced a standoff. But things were about to get even worse for all concerned when the Soviet Super Soldiers arrived to avenge Magneto’s ages-old crimes against their society.
