Spoof

    (Marvel, 1970, 1972-1973)
Marvel

Marvel did its best impression of Mad Magazine in this silly parody series. Spoof took broad strokes at early seventies TV culture, including such “classics” as Dark Shadows and The Mod Squad. In retrospect, these shows hardly seem to need aping to seem funny, but that didn’t stop Spoof from doing it anyway. The formula didn’t seem to work, however, and Spoof died in 1972 after just five issues.
