Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Judgment Day was the worthy sequel to the hugely successful movie The Terminator. In the original film, we learn that humanity would be nearly destroyed just a few years from now by its own weapons. The disaster would occur when the military defense system, Skynet, would gain sentience and decide to launch World War III. When the bombs had stopped falling, Skynet would begin producing machines to wipe out the survivors. When the humans, led by John Connor, began to turn the tide of the war against Skynet, the machines sent a robotic Terminator back in time to kill Connor before he was born.

That Terminator was ultimately defeated, but in T2: Judgment Day, Skynet tries one more time. They send a shapeshifting, liquid-metal, T-1000 Terminator back in time to kill the young boy Connor. To defend him, the future Connor sends back a reprogrammed, older-model Terminator to act as a bodyguard.
