Union Jack, the embodiment of the spirit of Great Britain, fights a desperate battle with a group of vampires that dare to seek the Holy Grail. Will his silver accoutrements be sufficient against vampires that are so brazen?

The Union Jack of this three-issue mini-series is the third person to hold that title. Lord Montgomery Falsworth, the first man to wear the colors of England, allied with Captain America and The Submariner as part of The Invaders during World War II. When a battle with the Nazi vampire (and his brother), Baron Blood cost him the use of his legs, his son, Brian Falsworth, took up the mantel of Union Jack until his death in 1953.

Joey Chapman stood in for the first Union Jack in Captain America #254 as a ruse to deceive the resurrected Baron Blood. That masquerade led Chapman to inherit the Union Jack identity, which is the source of some resentment from Kenneth Crichton, the grandson of the original Union Jack. Crichton was too sickly to carry on the family tradition, but nevertheless harbors bitterness for his loss. That bitterness is an underlying theme in this story.
