Series continued in The Hulk #10

Marvel launched a number of black-and-white magazine comics in the mid-seventies, trying to capture some of the same market that pulp-fiction novels held. Savage Sword of Conan aimed for the adult fantasy reader, Marvel Preview targeted the action-adventure audience, and a number of super-hero comics found themselves magazine counterparts as well.

Rampaging Hulk was a recasting of Marvel’s Incredible Hulk comic book. It contained new stories featuring Marvel’s big green behemoth, along with alter-ego Bruce Banner, sidekick Rick Jones, and an assorted cast of alien princesses, subterranean monsters, improbable villains, and even the occasional X-Man. Issues contained two stories, with the backup story typically starring an action-adventure hero such as Bloodstone, the ten thousand-year-old manhunter. With issue #11, this series changed names to become simply The Hulk.
