Earth X presented a bleak possible future, where all of mankind had been transformed by mutations. In Wakanda even the animals were affected: this new race of Ani-Men acts as “spirit-guides” to the Black Panther.

But the Black Panther’s people, relentlessly pursued by the carniverous Wendigoes, have been forced to flee their homeland for the dubious safety of the Savage Land. Not even the added might of the X-Men, the Hulk, and Ka-Zar’s forces is enough to stop the brutal monsters. The only hope of salvation lies within the secret of the Wendigos’ creation, but the price of victory might be too high for this mixed band of refugees and has-been heroes.

This one-shot coincides with Universe X and the reborn Mar-Vell’s quest for the Cosmic Cube, left in the Panther’s care by Captain America.
