Dale Evans Comics
(DC, 1948-1952)
™ and © DC Comics
Dale Evans was the popular cowboy Roy Roger’s spouse, who was a star in her own right. Because of this, it was only natural that Evans would receive her own title after the success of Roy Rogers Comics. Heck, there was even a Trigger title (Roy Roger’s horse). Issued at a time when Westerns and Western comics were highly successful and very profitable for Fawcett Publications in particular. It featured stories with Evans doing all of the things Rogers could do, and served as an early role model for girls, and also capturing that lucrative girls comic book reading demographic.
