Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig

™ and © Western Publishing Company, Inc.

Warner Bros. was looking for a major star to rival the star of their major competitor, Disney, named Mickey Mouse. After a few tries, they succeeded in the form of a stuttering pig named Porky Pig in 1935. Five years later, after a number of cartoons featuring prototype rabbit characters, lightning struck again with a character that even eclipsed Porky in popularity, Bugs Bunny. After a number of cartoons and comic books, this paper cover giant teamed up the Looney Tunes two biggest stars.
