Super Duck Comics

    (Archie, 1944-1960)
™ and ©1950 Close-Up, Inc.

Super Duck originally appeared in the pages of Jolly Jingles #10. There, he was a super-hero who gained his powers by ingesting special vitamins. Archie soon dropped this concept, however, to make him an ordinary, comic-book, funny animal character in the mold of Donald Duck. The reconceptualizing of the character proved successful, and Super Duck ran over sixteen years in his own title.
