Brian Morrel appears and acts like a typical high school senior. Easy-going and friendly to a fault; things seem to be in his favor. Lately Brian has been dreaming. Not of fast cars, graduation or girls but of disturbing and violent images that linger in his mind long after the cleansing rays of the sun have vanquished the darkness of night. Clammy bed sheets are unpleasant reminders of his nocturnal ordeals. Brian’s ailing grandfather urges him to read his journal and warns him about a stalking ‘horror’. Confused and upset, thoughts of graduating in three days provide some mental relief but the images continue to plague his sleep. Brian reminds himself they’re only dreams—and dreams can’t hurt you, right?
