War’s End: Profiles from Bosnia 1995-96

™ and © 2005 Joe Sacco

Joe Sacco takes a look at the war in Bosnia with two of his acclaimed stories finally pulled together in one volume.

In “Soba”, an artist-turned-soldier tries to hold his sanity together past his nightmares, the horrors of real life and a desire to return to his music. “Christmas with Karadzic” gives readers a taste of a reporter’s life and trials as he searches for a well known war criminal for an interview, little realizing the search is more satisfying than the end-product.
