Star Wars: Jedi—Shaak Ti
(Dark Horse, 2003)
™ and © Dark Horse Comics, Inc.
When Shaak Ti, a general and Jedi Knight, becomes cut off from her forces while attempting to quell an insurrection on Brentaal IV, she enlists the aid of some inmates in a prison where she has retreated. One of the prisoners, Lyshaa, killed her former Padawan, but Shaak Ti promises her release if they are successful in retaking the planet. However Lyshaa is not the trusting type and does not believe the Jedi will fulfill her promise.
This Star Wars companion one-shot was written by John Ostrander (The Kents, Martian Manhunter) and pencilled by Jan Duursema (Star Wars Episode II—Attack of the Clones). Set before the rise of the Empire when the Old Republic was still struggling to maintain a semblance of order, this story provides foreshadowing of the coming conflict.
