The fourteen issues (and various annuals and specials) of this series started the legend of Lester Girls. It’s a tragic tale, as Lester—cursed with dashing good looks, immense wealth, unbelievable sexual escapades, and a life of adventure—tries to cope. The trouble with Girls is that Lester really wants just a quiet life of contentment and enough time to catch up on his reading.

Lester is joined in his adventures by Maxie Scoops, the girl he sweetly loves, but whom he never seems to give more than a peck on the cheek. The Lascivious Lizard Lady, on the other hand, is Lester’s arch nemesis—although the call of duty sometimes requires the he make the ultimate sacrifice and bed her (brilliantly, of course). Then there’s his comrade Apache Dick, a sex-crazed fiend and scoundrel. The mere name of the team-up between him and Girls is characteristic of the tongue-in-cheek humor of this hilarious series.
