The Terminator: One Shot
(Dark Horse, 1991)
™ and ©1991 Cinema ’84, a Greenberg Brothers Partnership
James Robinson, who would later become one of comics’ most famous writers due to his work on Starman (2nd Series) and other projects, teamed up with artist Matt Wagner (Grendel) to bring us this deluxe format one-shot.
This story adds a new dimension to the original Terminator movie storyline. Here, we learn that the Terminator sent back to kill Sarah Connor was actually just one of two Terminators Skynet sent into the past. The first adopted a slightly different search tactic than we saw in the movie, choosing to break into the phone company’s computers rather than simply read a phone book and assassinate each Sarah Connor in the order listed. By using the more recent computer records, this Terminator wound up chasing an entirely different Sarah Connor—one who had just been married to a shy, but extremely wealthy artist. What’s more, this Sarah Connor was a hunter herself, and an aspiring murderess!
