Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Horror 2005
(Marvel, 2005)
™ and © Marvel Characters, Inc.
The tight continuity that has been a staple of the Marvel Universe spawned a series of encyclopedic volumes dedicated to being the final authority for facts and information concerning the myriad of characters and storylines.
After the 3-hole punched loose-leaf format in the early 1990s, Marvel settled on a series of one-shot titles that concentrated on a single character or genre. High pr0file characters like Spider-Man, The X-Men and The Hulk received their own titles. The monster genre, which saw a resurgence in the 1970s after a relaxation of the Comics Code Authority, has since suffered a lack of interest. This volume profiles an eclectic collection of occult-themed heroes and villains, including everyone from heavy-hitters like Dracula and Werewolf, to the mundane like Straw Man.
Along with a capsule biography and publication statistics, a power grid for each character is included which details such attributes as: Strength, Speed, Intelligence, Durability, Fighting Skills and Energy Projection.
Presumably this information is useful to role-playing gamers
